About The Principal
A 2002 graduate of Sterling High School, Mr. Jim Geer first attended Sauk Valley Community College with the intent of becoming a high school history teacher. Through a family friend, it was arranged for him to observe some elementary classes so he could see and be able to consider the younger grades while he was still at Sauk. As it turned out, he really liked the elementary style and changed his college course so he would be able to teach K-8. After Sauk, Mr. Geer transferred to Aurora University and completed coursework there in the spring of 2007, including student teaching fourth and fifth grades in Erie. He then taught grades two and four-eight at East Coloma School in Rock Falls from 2007-2014. From 2011-2013 Mr. Geer attended Aurora University to obtain his license to be an administrator, and in July of 2014 he came aboard at TES as principal.
