• A Message From Our Superintendent

    Welcome to Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3! Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3 is a student-centered district. Our district, covering approximately 200 square miles in northwestern Illinois, serves students in the communities of Prophetstown, Lyndon, Tampico, Deer Grove and Yorktown, as well as the surrounding rural area. The educational facilities of our district include four attendance centers, with a district enrollment of approximately 850 students. These attendance centers include:

    Our focus is on providing students with excellent educational opportunities designed to prepare each student for a successful future in a college or career setting. Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3 serves our students in a manner consistent with the values of our communities, with rigorous curricula provided by an excellent and enthusiastic staff. Our partnerships with Sauk Valley Community CollegeWhiteside Area Career Center, and Morrison Institute of Technology allow us to offer students opportunities for Dual Credit college instruction and valuable career and technical training.

    We are a 1:1 technology district, consistently striving to provide our students access to 21st century technology and incorporate progressive educational initiatives, which will enhance our students' educational experiences and promote success in each of their futures. This 1:1 student learning initiative is supported by a high-speed iFiber optic network.

    Our Board of Education, administration, staff and community have worked diligently to create a shared vision for moving our district toward excellence for our students and our communities. The mission of Prophtetstown- Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3 is "to provide for the academic and social development of students in a collaborative environment between school, parents, and the community." Our current Strategic Plan is a culmination of our vision and efforts. (Click here for Strategic Plan bullet points.)

    About The Superintendent

     hlensing

    Heidi Lensing began her career in education as a middle school math teacher in Galesburg, Illinois in 2000. She began her role in administration serving as the Dean of Students at Churchill Junior high in Galesburg in 2007. Heidi then served as principal at two schools in Monmouth before moving to serve as principal at Ridgewood Elementary School in East Moline in 2013 and most recently working as principal at Eagle Ridge school in Silvis.

    Heidi earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Monmouth College in 2000 adding a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University in 2008 and just completed earning her Superintendent endorsement in 2020 from Arkansas State University.

    A Galesburg native she currently lives with her husband Chris in Moline with their three month old son. Chris has been the superintendent at the East Coloma-Nelson District near Rock Falls for the past four years.
